Our family has been through hell lately and I literally mean it. Not myself, Alan, and Reis but my mom, dad, and sister. My parent's divorce should be finalized soon and if that wasn't enough, they have to deal with my sister's antics. I have no idea who all reads this and she probably doesn't even know I have a blog, but if she reads this maybe it will do her some GOOD and at this point I don't care! I don't understand how someone can continually make bad decisions, have the parents bail them out constantly, and then say that no one has ever done anything for them? I get so FRUSTRATED! Basically, my dad is the only one that is willing to still deal with her and he has no home right now, the stress of work, and a divorce. It makes me so mad. What do you do to make someone realize they need to get their act together even though they are in a vulnerable state? Do you still chew their ass and wonder if they will be there the next day? Or, worry that the last thing you said will in fact be the last thing and then you have to live with that. How do you deal with that type of situation? Write them off? Keep bailing them out? I have no idea but something has got to give...it's getting ridiculous. I am airing out dirty laundry but right now, I simply don't give a crap.
I also don't know what I did to be so blessed and peaceful while my family is going through such drama. How come my life has been a gift from God over the past couple of years? Not meaning my whole life hasn't but one would think that these first couple of years would be trying and it actually hasn't been so bad. Everything has fallen into place for us. Yes, we have had some bad spots over the years but things have always fallen into place....a good job for Alan, a house to buy, our finances, my parents being generous, able and more than willing to help us out whenever we need something. I am so thankful for both of them even if that means they live separate lives. I cannot remember a time when I said, "mom and dad, I need this" and them not doing their best to make that happen. Even now that I am 26, it is still the same way. I look at that and hope that I can do the same for Reis one day just because we can and think he deserves it.
