I'm here, there and everywhere

Or at least that's how I feel. I was in Havana all last week and then husband came back for the FSU game. It was fun hanging out and seeing everyone but it never feels like a vacation. Trying to split your time 3 ways now is difficult and I feel more tired after I leave then when I am home. I am feeling really out of it these days and hope it goes away soon. I got on anti-depressants 5 months after I had Reis because I had a lot of anxiety and living away from my family and feeling caged just got to me. SO, I decided I feel okay now and quit them cold turkey and it has been rough. I would suggest that anyone who is contemplating them or on them to not quit cold turkey. I have had the worst headaches, shivers, waking up drenched and no patience whatsoever. I feel like a mega-bitch and not myself. It has been a week and I have taken a little here and there but I hope this goes away soon...it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

Babies for Bill

Congressman Young had an open house at his campaign headquarters yesterday and Alan was helping out so Reis and I went over and hung out for a while. He is up for reelection in November and has been a member of Congress for over 30 years. He and his wife, Beverly, have been like a another set of parents for us in a way. We met them in DC when Alan volunteered on the Hill for his office. I think it was divine intervention that they came into our lives. Some already know the story, but we met them while I was pregnant with Reis. I had been seeing an Army doctor on base in Virginia and had no idea that she was a general practitioner and not an OB. I never saw an OB my entire pregnancy. With a month left, my law firm threw me a shower and I expressed concerns to Bev about my swelling and no one being able to give me Reis' approximate size or weight with only a month to go. I did not want to deliver a 10lb. baby. I had gone in for an ultrasound where they plugged in this rickety old machine and couldn't see anything as far as weight, measurement, or fluid. I told Beverly at the shower about this and she demanded that I be seen at Bethesda(the Naval hospital where all members of Congress and the president go so they have to be up to par). She made a call and got me in the next day. I was seen by a nurse in high risk pregnancy and my fluid was extremely low and my placenta was calcified. I was induced within 4 hours in which I freaked out because I had no bag packed and still thought I had 4 weeks to let the idea of pushing a baby out my you know what sink in. The nurse said that if I had gone full term Reis might not be here. He could have had a cord accident and been stillborn. So, no amount of thank yous will ever be enough to show our gratitude. I had Congressman Young(who walked off the House floor while voting) sleeping on cot while I was in labor and Bev and Alan on each side. They do SO much for soldiers and their families to make sure they are taken care of and treated accordingly. You would think that they would get or SHOULD get the best health care the United States has to offer but it's sad, because some of the time they get the worst.

Every letter makes a sound

Singing in my best voice, "Every letter makes a sound, "q" says "qua." This is what I hear all day everyday followed by the alphabet playing over and over...and over. This is actually a neat toy. Instead of pulling all my pictures and magnets off the fridge, Reis has his own and the entire alphabet to stick on the fridge or throw on the floor...most of which are on the floor right now. I recommend it for momma's, it gives baby something to play with while you are busy in the kitchen.

Reis is digging for gold all the time. It's funny but kind of gross and embarrassing at the same time. I hear this is just a phase and I sure hope so. I don't want to be the mother who's kid has his finger up his nose constantly...ewww.

We signed our contract for the house a week ago and looks like everything is a go. I guess one good thing about the housing market going to crap is that we got a really good deal, are paying no closing costs, got $9,000 towards upgrades, and get the $7,500 tax credit for first time home buyers. Can't beat that. I shall disclose my plan for the tax credit at another time. Let's just say I have plans and husband isn't arguing against it:)

Back in the swing of things

The in-laws brought Reis back on Sunday and he is WALKING everywhere. It is so weird to be standing in the kitchen and see him walk around the corner. I feel like he has turned into a little man in the 2 weeks I haven't seen him. He has changed so much and is learning new things all the time and trying to repeat everything we say. Note to mommy and daddy...watch what you say. The time Alan and I got to spend together did us good. I think everyone needs that from time to time. Although it is so tiring and frustrating at times to be a parent, it melts my heart to see him laugh, play and discover new things. I wouldn't change it for the world.

I want to change my boring background but everytime I try, the sides of the layout change but the green header is still there. I know it can't be that hard and I am not completely stupid. Help!!

White House Black Market

Just bought this dress for the wedding this weekend. I could take one of everything in the store. They have the cutest stuff but I am also partial to black...love it.
