Still here
I am still kicking. We finally got our place and moved in. The movers decided to show up last night at 10:30 when they called and were supposedly on their way at 10:30 that morning. They left this morning at 3:30 and I woke up around 8 to the sound of fire alarm tests in our building. Needless to say, I am exhausted and there is crap everywhere! At least my clothes are in my closet and the frig is full...and I have some wine. Will blog more when I don't feel like I have been ran over.

Virginia Friends
All of these pictures were taken with my cell phone so I am sorry if they aren't the best. Just thought I'd blog about some friends I have met here and enjoyed so much. Lyndon and Myriah below are Jason and Renee's two kiddies who we have come to know and love. I have learned a lot being a first time mother and watching Renee. She was always there to answer my dumb questions and would babysit at a moment's notice while trying to handle her 2 little ones. I had to post the pic of Brian in his kilt because it makes me laugh every time I look at it. You never know what Brian is going to have on when we decide to bbq and hang by the fire pit. He and his wife, Sarah, are like the modern day Brady bunch with 9 kids....yes, I said 9 kids. She had 3, he had 3, and then they had 3 together. I don't know how they do it but she seems pretty composed every time I see her. She has patience like no other. The picture of us girls Sarah, Renee, and myself screams military because we all showed up in our husband's jackets and looked like the 3 amigos....warmth over fashion is what I told myself. I wish them all the best and give them kudos for being able to live the military life for as long as they have...will miss them!

Bed Head

I can't believe how long his hair has gotten. He keeps messing with his ears because it hangs all on them. It is the cutest thing and I don't want to cut it and won't for a while....maybe just a little trim for his ears:) Brutus has started to come around and has finally figured out that Reis isn't just here for a visit and might as well get used to him. So, they play and have become buddies. One week from today and we leave Virginia. I can't believe it has been 2 years. It seems like it was not so long ago that I was telling everyone that we will be back before you know it. It's finally here!!! I didn't think military life would be depressing but it kind of has been. I have now figured out possibly why people just aren't so friendly. If I knew my life was up in the air and never knew my next duty station, I guess I might be a little bitchy myself. I have made some good friends and it always seems like you get close right before having to leave. So, I am making the most of this week to have fun and hang out. Maybe my next blog will be one about them?

Ahhnold
Here's our picture from the fundraiser a couple of months ago. Thought it turned out okay although we are all looking at different cameras....oh well. At least we got a pic!I am feeling a little better today. I went to the Dr. yesterday and she said I had no thyroid problems and was perfectly healthy...even my liver. That came as a shock after 5 years in college...lol. I am still confused as to why I am feeling this way, but I guess I can't complain if I got a clean bill of health. Maybe it's just the stress of moving and everything I know we have to get done in the next 2 weeks. I am hoping it wears off...I need to feel like me again.

Still tired
I was talking to my mom yesterday about me being so tired, not just kinda worn out but barely keep my eyes open tired, and I have slept for 9 hours. Both she and my sister have thyroid problems and she said she's pretty sure that is what is happening with me. She said she developed it after being pregnant with me and was exhausted and could not move. It sounds exactly like what I've been going through so I called my doc to get some blood work done. Hopefully, they can get me in there in the next couple of days because I can't take this much longer. I don't want to leave the house or do anything...sucks!
On a completely different note, anyone preggers and looking for a baby swing, here's my recommendation...do not get the rain forest one! Reis is about 18 pounds now maybe 19 and the stupid thing does not swing and has not for months. The motor is too small for the weight and this was an expensive swing. Just a little advice from a frustrated momma. I still put him in it and he likes it, but I have to give it a little push every now and then.

Why?
I am still so exhausted and have no idea why. I thought maybe it was readjusting to being back at home but it's Friday and I still feel weird and tired. Maybe it's just "that time" which is making me feel loopy and not so normal. I thought birth control was supposed to get rid of all that? I have gotten plenty of sleep at night but still want to doze off during the day...strange. Hopefully after it's all done I will feel more like myself again. Some energy would be greeeaaattt!
Alan received another email from SRI(one company he interviewed with) regarding his job. They said they were sending everything to HR for approval. Please say a little prayer that it all works out. I get a little freaked signing a lease and not having something set up before. We owe so much to the Youngs for helping Alan in all this. I do not know many 26 year olds that could walk away from the Army and into a great job that would pay well, offer benefits, etc without having a bachelor's degree which he is currently working on. SRI would help pay for him to finish school on top of the Army's GI Bill. It does say a lot for Alan and I think he has proven himself time and again. I tell him he is a 65 year old trapped in a young guy's body because he seems so wise beyond his years. I love someone who is driven and wants to be successful. I really appreciate all he does for me and the family.
Now, on to Reis. Why must he feel the need to pull all the diapers off his changing table while I am trying to clean his butt? He literally flips over and tries to grab the wipes while I am trying not to get poo everywhere....oh, the joy. I finally got up enough courage to put him in the grocery cart and do my serious shopping to see how he would do. I tried one time before and he started screaming his lungs off halfway through. But, this time he sat up and did great. One lady told me he had to be a girl because he was so beautiful. Nice compliment I guess....for my husband. Everyone says he looks nothing like me. BS I say...did all the work and my husband gets all the compliments. I like to moan but I am partial and do think he is the cutest thing:)

The countdown and stress begins
I finally feel somewhat normal today and not so tired so I shall blog. I guess I am old or something but getting out of my normal routine took it's toll. Being able to go out and sleep in was like a great thing of the past...back to mommy. Alan's job interviews went really well and we also found a townhouse. I was really dreading living in an apartment for a little while until we could figure out the area and where we would like to buy. BUT, on our way home from the beach, Ashley drove me around to some different townhouse developments and I found one that is really cute, painted crazy colors, has a pool and will feel more like a home for us. Alan heard back from one company and it sounds pretty good and the pay and benefits would allow for me to continue to stay home and be a momma. I am not looking forward to moving, but one good thing is the Army will move us one last time and we don't really have to do anything...thank goodness.
Our trip was made quite interesting...met the ex-wife at a bar she bounces at....need I say more. I have to say she was nice as was I and maybe that was due in part to the vodka sprite's I had prior. She won't be babysitting for us anytime soon as offered...so sorry. I have told myself....her loss is my wonderful gain and it proves itself time and time again. It just seems like everything keeps falling into place and we are so blessed.
