Well, this past Saturday I was enjoying my normal morning ritual of reading my People magazine after breakfast and came across a Super Bowl food advertisement about fried pickles. My mind immediately went back to my Po' Boy days on College Ave. in t-town and I thought to myself....mmmm, gotta make some. So, being the sweet wife and domestic diva I am, I went to the store and got everything I needed and also decided to make hubby's favorite, fried chicken. Now, being the idiot I am, I bought bread and butter pickles instead of dill. They weren't bad but just not the same. My chicken turned out pretty darn good and "the Sarg" as my mom calls him was thankful.
On another note, one of the many ways I keep myself from going crazy is to get out at lunch and take Reis to the gym. Gold's provides childcare for a $1.50 a day and it is very worth it. Although, they will keep your kid just won't change a diaper. So, I was huffing it on the elliptical yesterday in preparation for my chicken eating and of course, little Reis pees all out of his diaper...only 10 minutes left but duty called. I must say it is nice to be able to put him in there for about a hour and a half and do my thang. This one lady that keeps him goes crazy over him and asks each day if we are coming again tomorrow....good motivation for me. I walked in yesterday and two of the staff were just sitting and talking to him...it was very sweet. Am also glad to know he behaves and is a charmer while in someone else's care...even if it is only a hour. So, although I may have reached domestic diva status, an extra 10-15 on the elliptical is a must...Reis permitting.
